ICP-Bolt Placement

IPC Bolt Placement using Simulator-Rowena

IPC Bolts are usually inserted through a short stab incision (shorter than that for a burr hole) through the scalp, followed by a fine twist drill hole which just perforates the inner table of the skull.

A proprietary bolt of some sort is then inserted which holds in place either a fibre-optic or wire probe.

The precise insertion and fixation varies between manufacturers but each of these techniques can be practised using Rowena.
